Chasing Grace is Julia's directorial debut. Now Austin-based, Julia worked in New York City as an actress on numerous TV series, most recently as Heidi Bell on the hit show, "Nashville".  When Julia isn't acting she produces high-profile events and touring shows for the African Children's Choir. Her play, "Modern Missionary", inspired by her relief and development work in East Africa, won best play at the NYC Fringe Festival in 2006 and is now in development as a feature film.

Van graduated from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a degree in musical theater, and has enjoyed performing in productions across the country. Favorite leading roles include the Phantom, Jesus (Jesus Christ Superstar), LM (Pumpboys & Dinettes), Danny (Grease), Pharaoh (Joseph & the A.D.C), and Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady).
